Roots of Purpose is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing homelessness by reducing poverty in Louisville, Kentucky. Our mission is not only to provide resources to people that are currently unhoused, but also to provide services that are going to help alleviate the pressure of poverty and make growth easier. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to reform their lives, revive their purpose, and rectify their mistakes and we work tirelessly to make that a possibility. Our Projects
At Roots of Purpose, we have several ongoing projects to support our mission of reducing poverty through a holistic approach. Currently we are working to open a community center where we will host events and community dinners, offer job training and support, collect professional clothing to distribute for interviews, offer harm reduction resources and so much more. Halloween season is here, and Roots of Purpose is bringing the spooky joy straight to the South End! 🦇💜 Our Trunk or Treat event is all about community, creativity, and making sure every kid (and grown‑up!) gets to enjoy a safe, fun, and festive Halloween night.

Families can stroll through decorated trunks, collect treats, and then stick around for fall activities like pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, and our beloved costume contest for kids, teens, and adults! 🎃✨
